2019-04-01

INAMET has high expectations regarding the PMI Project and MFI a strong will to meet these expectations as soon as possible.

Therefore, in March 2019 during the first Steering Committee of the project, MFI committed itself to deliver 4 quick wins concerning different aspects of INAMET’s activity.

These quick wins are temporary solutions meant to provide quickly visible and tangible results while awaiting the definite solutions that will be provided within the PMI Project.

Quick win 1
Temporary access to Météo-France’s pilot briefing solution (AEROWEB PRO) at Luanda’s airport.

The solution is operational since April 2019 and local staff has been trained in order to be able to use it until MFI’s system AEROMET-WEB is implemented and fully customized for INAMET’s specific needs in terms of aeronautic meteorology.

Quick win 2
Speedy renovation of the Georiskos Building in order to create, in 6 months, a brand-new Meteorological Operational Center including a server room, a forecasting office and a calibration & maintenance workshop.

Construction works have been launched in October 2019 and are on track to be finished by the end of the first quarter of 2020.

Quick win 3
Provision of a specific meteorological report adapted for the Oil & Gas industry.

This report will be prepared by Météo-France and sent twice a day to INAMET.
The service is expected to be operational in March 2020.

Quick win 4
Creation of a TV weather report (storyboard, pictograms, background, etc.) for the national channel TPA.

The report is expected to be operational by March 2020 for enhanced visibility of INAMET’s forecasts.
